Day 1 - 2 Travel to Dubai, trip to Abu Dhabi and Muhadaba tennis tournament

After Christmas day we packed our bags and drove to the Ostrava airport from where we flew to Dubai via Prague, it was a new connection, competition for Fly Dubai and Emirates. The flight on CSA and Travel service was ok, I mean if you do not have high expectation it will not dissapoint you, after all it got us where we needed to get. We rented a car at the airport and drove directly to our hotel from where we went straight to the Dubai fountain where we had dinner at TGI with nice views of Burj Khalifa, since it was winter the weather was great, not too hot not too cold and the area around the fountain was much more crowded than in summer. The next day we walked the old quarter of Dubai, visited the souq and had superb breakfast at a local traditional restaurant. Later we drove to the Grand Mosque and from there straight to the tennis tournament, which was also pleasant with top tennis players.

Day 3 Trip to the mountains

Today we got up early and drove to the mountains close to the border with Oman. Since the GPS sometimes does not work well in UAE since too many roads are built and we never had difficulties navigating without it, just by following road signs or orienting ourselves by the skyscrapers we though that it would be pretty easy trip. Well we did not expect, that during winter a thick haze was obstructing the view every morning and then again from the late afternoon, so it was much harder.

Day 4 Camel racing and Global Village

Today we got up really early and went to the camel racing club, through the thick fog it was really hard to find, even though we were in the racing club, but we managed to find it. The camel races are quite frequent so we just waited there for a while and watched the camels racing and the locals driving in cars side by side. On the way back to the city we stopped at the flower garden, which was also great. In the evening we stopped at the Global village, really nice place where we could enjoy different types of food and we easily got lost there for couple hours.

Day 5 Dubai and Burj Khalifa

Today we decided to relax on the beach for a while, then we had amazing mexican food in a restaurant near Burj Al Arab and did some shopping in the nearby shopping malls. In the evening we visited the Dubai Fountain again and went to the viewing platform at Burj Khalifa. There was an option to go eather to a lower floor or lower and upper, we decided to both of them. The views from the top were great as always, but it got really crowded over the years so the total experience could have been better.
