What happens, when you follow your dreams

06/30/2018

It was January 2016 and I was lost. I was walking down the streets of Ljubljana, city I have lived in for 5 years and I have taken for mine, and was thinking about what am I doing with my life? I'm sure you have also asked yourself this question at least once. I was about to turn 30 that year and what did I have? I had a job I kind of liked and I was making decent money. I had great friends and awesome family, which lived far enough not to drive me crazy, but close enough to visit them whenever I wanted. I was healthy, pretty, fit and single. The last word, might that be the one which bothered me?

Only few months before that I broke up with a man I though I would spent my life with, and it had shaken my world and turned it upside down. Suddenly, I didn't have a clear vision of my future. What will I do now? I was searching for job in another country, traveling and trying to find some inspiration. And on that foggy afternoon in Ljubljana I found it. A phone rang and my friend asked me if I want to travel the world with him. I though he was crazy at first, but the thought got stucked in my head and without knowing it just yet, my mind had already started creating the Czick on the road...

Now it is exactlly two years ago since I moved to cheaper apartement and started doing everything to make my dream come true. My friend changed his mind and I was in it alone, but I didn't mind, I knew this was what I wanted to do. I was working towards saving enough money, quiting my job and becoming a ful time traveler. It was scary, leaving my comfortable corporate life, 9-17 job, Friday's parties, weekends in the mountains with friends I became very cloose with. But nothing was gonna change my plan, not even a new boyfriend.

We are in it together now and it's our 5th month on the road. The whole adventure started in Peru, where we have bought a car and spent 2 months traveling to end the trip at the top of Machu Picchu. Then, almost without any problems, crossed the broders to Bolivia together with 2 German girls we met on our hike to Machu Picchu and became good friends. Another two months in amazing Bolivia with just a small corruption incident with the police, which forced us to leave few days earlier.  And now we are in Brazil, traveling for the first time while working as volunteers aand spending afternoons with our computers making money for another month on the road.
